I've had mixed experiences at Lime and Thyme ; two very good, one really quite poor. I was really quite disappointed by my second visit after work . I was starving and ordered the tomato soup, which the kitchen had forgotten to give bread with and i had to ask again to have and the halloumi salad which flattered to deceive. There was lots of salad and some nice little ingredients mixed in like orange and olives; but i only counted three tiny bits of halloumi which was cold. I was told when i ordered that it'd be fresh off the grill. This was a shame as my first experience at lime and thyme was so good. The kitchen can produce beautiful grilled meats, like the chicken souvlaki as well as fresh and vibrant salads, like the feta and olive packed greek salad. Everything is very good value, with mains from about £9 to £14 and various mezze up to about £6 to start. The sucuk (grilled beef sausage) is fantastic. On the menu as well is pizza and pasta, but i would prefer something more ambitious!
Breakfast at Lime & Thyme.
One minute walk from Raynes Park Station.
Had Shashuka with extra Turkish sausage .
What an excellent dish.
Reminded me my grandma's lecsó ( kind of like ratatouille).
Afterwards, I had crepes, which came with custard and fresh forest fruit on top.
It's not too sweet or heavy, just perfect if you want something "cheeky" to finish with.
For drink, I had my usual latte.
Total bill of £22.46 , which, considering the portion, location, and service, I found absolutely fair.
I have to praise Luisa and Alexandra for the service. 🙏👍
Not only "my table" , but they run the show together with the kitchen, when they had a lot of tables, mainly walk-ins.
They did an excellent, outstanding job. 👏
Overall, it was a great breakfast experience.
If I am around, I'll be back.
Thanks again! 🙂
One of the best lamb stews I've ever had 🐑 The service was quick, servers polite, food was amazing. Highly recommend.
